Prom! What an exciting time, for both high school juniors and seniors (and their parents and teachers, of course!) I love what I do because I get to capture people’s happiest memories. As these kids go off to work or college, they’ll always be able to look at their photographs and reminisce about about that night that they ended childhood, and started a new journey as adults.
This year, I was honored to photograph the Wisconsin High School Prom.
The Venue – Lake Arrowhead Golf Course in Rome, Wisconsin.
The venue is, in one word, stunning. The decorations were set up so beautifully, that it reminded me of photographing a wedding. Add in the natural beauty of Lake Arrowhead, with its gorgeous views, and you have a recipe for some amazing pictures of the prom, both inside and outside.
Not only was the place set up beautifully, there was also plenty of space for dancing. The students had a great time, and I was able to capture some amazing fun and candid moments. It’s such a pleasure to capture those priceless memories, when there’s not a care in the world.

The dance floor was soon filled with revellers, and everyone was having a great time.
The crowning moment came when the Prom Queen was chosen. It was so much fun capturing the grand march and coronation and seeing the excitement on the queen’s face as she was handed the “lucky bouquet” of flowers and watching her be crowned. Something that will live with her for a lifetime!
This was so much fun, I’m already looking forward to next year’s prom!
